Something new @ the COLLECTIVE

"Dance tribe" is excited to offer tribal fusion bellydance classes in Durban at "the COLLECTIVE" in Florida Road from October. This style has a base in traditional bellydance but has brought the dance form into the 21st century with the use of modern music and styling. It is a widely recognised style of bellydance world-wide , yet is not seen very often in South Africa. As one of the only Tribal fusion studios in KZN these beginner classes (also offered in the Hillcrest area) are an ideal way to get into bellydance and see what it is all about. The instructor Tarah has been bellydancing for over a decade and has travelled overseas to further her dance training. Therefore you are getting someone who understands the style, the dance and who will teach you correctly. We are very big on making sure the students are not injured and their bodies are looked after while dancing.

This dance form is very "women-friendly", it is low-impact exercise, it builds strength, flexibility and is a LOT more fun than going to gym. Currently we accept mixed age classes from 13yrs old to infinity, and if you are interested in classes for younger girls please contact me so we can discuss making a class specifically for the little ones (their needs, abilities and attention span are very different to older girls and women). These classes are a great way to bond with family and friends, so get some to join in with you.

Classes at the COLLECTIVE will be on Thursday evenings and a variety of time options are available depending on what would suit everyone. either 5.30-6.30 or 6:00-7:00 or 6.30-7.30pm.(When contacting her please indicate preferred time) If there is alot of interest, two classes in an evening back-to-back will become available. Fees are R190 per month and due on the first lesson each month, cash for first lesson and then banking details will be given for future months.
